Rolf Harris Star Portraits Australian Version! Rudd, Warnie.
If you have been watching the Rolf Harris series, “Star Portraits” (Fantastic show on the ABC), you will have noticed how many different types of portrait artists there are. From impressionists to realism – the range is broad and the artists’ style varies abundantly. The one thing the artists do have in common is a passion and unique way of self – expression, an almost manic disposition to reveal themselves through the canvas.
I’m not sure if an Australian version is on the agenda, but maybe it should be…
Some candidates (and the type of portrait) could include:
- Kevin Rudd – a black and white portrait – monochrome.
- Germaine Greer – A Jackson Pollock type crazed paint dripping session on an oversized canvas.
- Shane Warne – A classical conservative realist portrait -(oh, actually maybe not…nude portrait in jocks.)
- Shappelle Corby – A realism portrait – painted on rare natural fiber canvas – and will need plenty of time to dry out.
