Male Birthday Gifts and anniversary gifts...hmmm…a tough one…no way!
I remember this lady who emailed me from an Australian Navy vessel stationed in the Gulf; she wanted to get her husband a unique gift which symbolised their commitment to each other in picture form. (They had been married for a long time – a fifteenth wedding anniversary – I thought about it for a while and said to her…
“Sheryl listen, I really don’t know you well enough to be suggesting gifts like that for you and your husband…I don’t know what to say.”
Anyway, that’s the last I thought I’ve ever hear from Sheryl in the Gulf.
I admit sometimes I’m not the best sales person and should really just make up something! Why not? Because I really want our clients to think of something special. I know these amazing oil portraits will be with people for a long time….so I really make a point to the client to think of their own unique idea…Suddenly the phone rang – I could not believe who was on the other end…AND… IT WAS NOT SHERYL!!..
“Hello…..this is Mr J%^& (Last name has been omitted for Australian Navy security reasons). I was looking at your website and thought about getting a special painting done for my wife…”(I’ll cut a very long story short) you guessed it, the man on the other end was Sheryl’s husband…and it was their 16th wedding anniversary coming up…I could not believe it! Anyway…the gentleman was looking for an anniversary gift for his wife, who was away with the Navy..in the Gulf!
Hooray I said, “a double sale!!” (No, only joking)…I was actually dumfounded…
Anyway, he ended up getting their wedding anniversary photo painted into a fantastic oil painting portrait on canvas and Shery…well, she had a portrait commissioned for her husband, as a birthday gift...the amazing thing was we were able to have them done so they arrived on the same day…(ok, a couple of days apart...the Gulf can be a hard place to deliver to!) UPS are incredible!
Sheryl’s portrait is actually showcased on the website...obviously for security reasons I can’t tell you which one…(the Australian Navy personnel deserve their privacy)…but I can tell you the page it is on…you will have to guess which one she gave to her husband for a birthday present…I think you will pick it…you can search for it on the portrait page at the website…
Anyway…that’s a true story which is directly related to male birthday gifts and male anniversary presents! Hard to find…not any more.
