9 May 2021- The National 2021: New Australian Art exhibit is a celebration of contemporary Australian art staged concurrently at three of Sydney’s premiere cultural institutions-- the Art Gallery of NSW (AGNSW), Carriageworks, and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA).

From 26 March to 5 September 2021, you can view this exhibition that presents a combination of 39 emerging, mid-career, and established Australian artists here and abroad. The artworks range from paintings, drawings, and sculptures through to videos and performances.

The National 2021: New Australian Art has been curated by Matt Cox and Erin Vink (AGNSW), Abigail Moncrieff (Carriageworks), and Rachel Kent (MCA). They worked closely together to develop three distinct exhibits of new Australian art that together highlight the ideas and forms that motivate artists in the country today.

Admissions are free for the only large-scale recurring exhibition in Sydney focused exclusively on contemporary Australian art. So mark your calendars and  plan your visit to view the provocative, political, and poetic displays of art by Australian artists.
